The Light goes pink for Leeds Loves Shopping
19th Oct 2011
The Light turned pink on Saturday 15th October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as it hosted its Style Station event.
The Light offered its female shoppers a boudoir experience, as part of Leeds Loves Shopping. Hosted by The Light's lifestyle bloggers The Chatterbox Girls, shoppers were treated to a series of fashion and beauty shows throughout the day.
A whole host of local suppliers and industry experts supported Style Station; through giving away free treatments, free make-overs, professional advice, goody bags and samples. In addition, local cupcake supplier the Bespoke Cupcake Company created a unique Breast Cancer Cupcake for visitors to purchase, in total helping to raise just over £200 for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Footfall at the centre was also up by 25% on last year, with retailers reporting that they had sold out of items exhibited at the show.
Marketing Manager Stephanie James said “As female shoppers make up 60% of our visitors, we felt that it was vital to support this charity. It was also great to be able to offer local suppliers and industry professionals a platform on which to showcase themselves”.
