Leeds pub shortlisted for regional award

11th Jun 2012
The Town Hall Tavern is the only Leeds pub on the shortlist for Welcome to Yorkshire’s Pub of the Year award.

The Timothy Taylor owned pub is no stranger to winning awards having recently picked up the esteemed “Best Lunch” accolade in the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Oliver awards.  Earlier this year the Town Hall Tavern gained an AA rosette for the quality of its food and thereby became the only gastropub in Leeds to hold the coveted award.

Under manager Astrid Pot and head chef Anton Scoones, the Town Hall Tavern has gained a reputation for serving modern British food in relaxed contemporary surroundings. The seasonally changing menu features freshly cooked food using fine quality locally sourced produce.

Whilst the focus is very much on food upholding the traditions of the great English pub are equally as important and this includes Timothy Taylor’s award winning cask ales as well as an excellent selection of wines and cocktails.

Taylor’s operations manager Marc Craddock said, “It is fantastic to be short-listed for this prestigious award and we’re grateful to our customers for getting us to this stage. Now we’re hoping that the people of Leeds will get behind us and vote for the city’s only pub left in the competition. Let’s make it a win for Leeds!”

Marc continued, “We need as many votes as possible, including all those who voted for us first time round. All you have to do is log on to www.yorkshire.com/pub.”
