Jamaica have announced their 13 man squad ahead of next week's Carnegie Floodlit 9s Tournament at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

The squad will arrive on 16th August 2010 and plan to stay until after the Bank Holiday Weekend and attend the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on 28th August 2010. Their shirt sponsors, Virgin Atlantic, have provided their transport from Jamaica.

The Carnegie Floodlit 9s on 25th August will be Jamaica’s third 9s tournament. They have previously taken part in The Cheltenham Cup in April and in last year's Carnegie Floodlit 9s.

Jamaican Rugby League Development Officer Romeo Monteith said "We are looking forward to the challenge of playing alongside elite teams from the Super League, Scotland and Wales. These tournaments greatly contribute to the development of the World's Greatest Game on our island. Headingley is a fantastic ground and all our players are keen to set the stadium alight with rocking reggae rugby, we encourage the fans to come out and cheer the boys on.”

Quick Rules of 9s Rugby

Rugby League Rules except:

- 9 Players per side with unlimited interchange

- 7½ Minutes each half, teams change ends at half time but no interval

- A Drop Goal (2 points) is used to convert a try (4 points)

- A Tap on half way restarts the game after a score

- 10 Metres forward of an infringement is where a tap is taken when a penalty is awarded

- 2 Minutes is the time an offending player spends in the sin bin

Hull FC Head Coach Richard Agar and Leigh Centurions’ Robbie Paul will be studio guests for this year's Carnegie Floodlit 9s Tournament. The Draw for the competition will take place live on James Deighton’s West Yorkshire Sport show on BBC Radio Leeds on 15th August 2010 at 5.30pm. “Having hosted draws this season for the Carnegie Challenge Cup, the Northern Rail Cup and the Northern Rail 9s the Carnegie Floodlit 9s will complete a clean sweep of draws for BBC Radio Leeds and we're privileged to be doing it." 

Turnstile prices have been set at £15 for Adults and £5 for Children under 16 and Concessions for the summer evening spectacular. A Family of 4 [2 adults and 2 Children] can pre purchase a ticket for just £20 saving £20 or 50%. With the same offer a family of 3 [2 Adults and 1 child] save £15 while 2 adults on their own would save £10 or 25%. Fans wishing to make an advance purchase can do so via the Headingley Box Office or through the box office at participating clubs.
