Happy reading from Weetwood Hall

25th Apr 2012
Weetwood Hall Conference Centre&Hotel is one of the few venues in Leeds to have been selected as one of the distributors for the World Book Night event.

World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books which sees many thousands of volunteers  gift books to their local communities. They selected 25 titles for which two million copies were printed in World Book Night editions and distributed to over 20,000 volunteers and organisations in the UK and Ireland, such as Weetwood Hall to give freely and hence share and spread the love of reading.

Once those who have received and read their book they are encouraged to pass it onto another interested reader noting details on the website so that opinions and feedback concerning their edition can be tracked.

For Weetwood Hall there was a particular local theme as World Book Night designated ‘The Damned United’ by David Peace as the chosen publication that would be given freely to interested readers.

General Manager Peter Chubb commented: “We are delighted to be involved with this community event and look forward to seeing what the journeys are relating to the 24 books that we received for distribution.”
