The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin and The Bird by Vineet – based in the stunning Alea Casino on Clarence Dock – are delighted to announce their nominations for this year’s prestigious Oliver Awards.

The annual ceremony welcomes the best dining establishments in Yorkshire all competing to be the best in their categories and this year is no exception. Alea’s restaurants have been put up for an outstanding five awards.
 
Since its opening in April 2011, The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin has strived to deliver the best of British and judging by its nominations, they are right on target. Their categories include:
 
· Best Service
· Best Newcomer
 
This is the third time The Bird by Vineet has been nominated at The Oliver Awards and has previously won Best Newcomer and Best Indian Restaurant in 2011. They are delighted to be up for:
 
· Best Chef – Vivek Kashiwale
· Best Service
· Best Indian Restaurant
 
The Oliver Awards are inspired by the Oliver restaurant reviews which appear weekly in the Yorkshire Evening Post. Now an institution in the region, they provide an invaluable gauge of the local dining scene. Their experience panel of testers, who always remain anonymous, visit over 100 venues a year ranging from gastropubs, to cafes, fine dining to your favourite neighbourhood restaurant.
