Fresh from its huge success at Tate Modern in London, The Drawing Shed returns to Leeds for a new exhibition at PSL [Project Space Leeds].
The Drawing Shed is a project devised by artist Diane Howse for PSL’s participation in No Soul for Sale, a festival of independents which took place at Tate Modern from 14-16 May. Curated by Cecilia Alemani for Tate Modern’s 10th birthday celebrations, No Soul for Sale saw the gallery’s giant Turbine Hall turned into a seething mass of creativity and artists’ projects, visited by 93,000 people over the course of three days.
With The Drawing Shed now returning to PSL, audiences in Leeds can enjoy the project for themselves during this new exhibition. The Drawing Shed is a participatory project, with artists making drawings on the Shed’s black exterior. These are then erased and another artist starts anew, with the project developing and changing throughout the course of the exhibition.
The Drawing Shed is supported by Marketing Leeds and icbuild. PSL is supported by Arts Council England and Leeds City Council.
