St Johns throws 40th birthday bash for Jumbo

On Saturday 22nd October, music fans across Yorkshire are invited to a day of free live, music at the St Johns Centre, Leeds, to celebrate the 40th birthday of Jumbo Records.
The day will be celebrated in style with celebrity guest performances from hit soul artist Corinne Bailey Rae as well as plenty of music performances from up and coming British artists and bands. Confirmed acts includes Yorkshire country blues singer Serious Sam Barrett, pop folk band Ellen&the Escapades and the Newcastle band Lanterns on the Lake who have just released their new album on the Bella Union label.
To help get people in the mood for music, Radio Aire’s Danny Mylo will be Jumbo’s DJ for the day and gig tickets, meal and drink vouchers, signed albums, posters, t-shirts and much more will be up for grabs.
As part of the 40th birthday bash Jumbo Records has joined forces with Revolutionary Brewing Company to create an exclusive birthday beer. Jumbo Records Anniversary Beer is available for a limited time only across bars, pubs, clubs and other venues across Leeds.
Hunter Smith, owner of Jumbo Records, said: “We’re really excited to be celebrating our 40th birthday with music fans across Leeds and Yorkshire. The day is going to be packed with great music and a fantastic vibe to help us mark a brilliant occasion. We hope to bring a huge crowd down on the day and everyone is welcome to join us in the celebrations.”
The events will take place between 10am and 5pm, so get down there as early as possible to see what’s going on!
