Mighty Boosh star joins festival lineup

16th Oct 2009
Leeds International Film Festival 09 is delighted to announce that Julian Barratt, aka Howard Moon from the Mighty Boosh, will be a special guest this year!

Julian will be coming back to his home town on the afternoon of Sunday 8th November, when Leeds Town Hall will host a great double bill from Boosh talent: Journey of the Childmen (1pm), a new documentary that captures the roller coaster ride of the huge 110 show Mighty Boosh tour, showing with Julian Barratt's brilliant short film Curtains, and Bunny and the Bull (3pm), the first feature from Might Boosh director Paul King with a cameos by stars of the series.

The fastest selling film in advance so far at LIFF 09, The Men Who Stare at Goats is based on the book by writer and documentary maker Jon Ronson, now confirmed as a guest for the screening at 4th November at  Leeds Town Hall. On Sunday 8th November at The Carriageworks, Julien Temple, director of the classic punk documentary The Filth and the Fury, will present his latest music film Oil City Confidential which tells the story of Dr Feelgood - four men in cheap suits who crashed out of Canvey Island in the early '70s and sandpapered the face of rock 'n' roll.

Having taken London by storm, they sped through Europe and chart success before imploding just as punk was born. Featuring great clips from British film noir, a psycho-geography of Canvey Island and Feelgood testimony from members of The Clash, Blondie and The Sex Pistols.
