Airport goes to top of class again
16th Oct 2009
Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) today (Thursday 15th October, 2009) announced its latest quarterly* punctuality statistics, with 89% of flights being either early or on time – yet again that’s top of a comparable CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) punctuality report of other airports in the UK.
LBIA also came top of the league table during the first quarter (January to March 2009) of the year, notching up an enviable 93% for on time flights.
During the latest reporting period (April to June 2009) LBIA once again beat all other airports mentioned in the report, with the highest scoring punctuality figures for both scheduled and charter flights. LBIA’s own data dovetails into statistics provided by the CAA*:
LBIA data (charter and scheduled flights early or on time):
89%
CAA data* (charter and scheduled flights early or on time**):
79.5% All regional Airports
78% All reporting Airports
77% Manchester Airport
Tony Hallwood, Commercial and Aviation Development Director at LBIA, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve topped the punctuality league table once again for both our charter and scheduled flights. We’ve worked particularly hard with our airline partners over the spring period to set a high benchmark for other airports to now follow”.
