Hyde Park Picture House
Hyde Park Picture House is the premier arthouse cinema in Leeds, and is housed within one of the oldest surviving picture houses in the UK.
Located in the lively suburb of Hyde Park, just outside the city centre, this cinema has to be seen to be believed. First opened as a cinema in 1914 (when it was still being lit by gaslamps!) this little gem is a Grade II listed building with decorated balconies, the original light fittings, a piano and an organ.
Despite all this history, the film screenings are right up to date, featuring the best in contemporary independent cinema from around the world, as well as classics from across time and genres. The cinema has been refurbished with new seating, an excellent sound system and all the usual comforts.
