New Rib Shakk concept launches in Leeds

10th Nov 2011
It’s all change downstairs at The Corn Exchange as Old Billy Bob brings his huge chunks of meat with specially created rubs and mopping sauces to the good people of Leeds from 11th November 2011.

At 11am Rib Shakk will throw open its barn doors to serve ribs and burgers  - ribs coated in secret rubs then slow cooked for seven hours make them sweet 'n’ juicy.

The Rib Shakk menu invites folk to select a mopping sauce from a choice of BBQ sauces: Classic Kansas City; San Diego Piri Piri; Texas Style Red Eye and South Carolina Mustard and Cider; to go with a choice of pork or beef ribs.

And there’s no hidden ingredient minced in the rib burgers because they don’t mince them! All the burgers are simply pure chunks of rib meat taken from the bone. Featuring the same kickin’ BBQ flavours plus Blue Cheese and Texas Mesquite.

And for those who like their chicken there are buckets of wings, coated in a secret muscavado, chilli and paprika rub and which come in a... bucket!

There are Rib Combo Platters and Meat Cuts for Two for those who want to share plus a Build Your Own Salad bar for those who need a little green with their meat.  Other sides include char-Grilled corn on the cob; french fries; seasoned fries; BBQ beans and 'slaw.

And there’s a special menu for the Ribblets which is just like Mama and Pappy’s but a bit smaller plus a whole selection of cool sodas and floats served in metal tins.

For those who reckon they can beat the heat Rib Shakk throws down the ultimate gauntlet with the Wall of Flames Challenge. If they can finish the secret, inferno hot sauce ribs they receive their meal and drink FREE plus earn their place on the Rib Shakk’s Wall of Flame in the restaurant and online as a mark of respect.

Rib Shakk is the latest project from Anthony’s Restaurant Ltd born of a desire to bring good quality, fast food to everyone. Whilst Anthony Flinn Jnr. has been instrumental in creating the menu, Rib Shakk is a company venture, which will be rolled out by the chefs based at the Corn Exchange.

Once Rib Shakk Leeds is successfully established Anthony’s Restaurants Ltd plans to take the concept to other cities in the UK.

So if you fancy a good ol’ fashioned backyard BBQ get yourself down to Rib Shakk where it won’t cost you a fistful of dollars to get a belly full of ribs.
