As part of the Jubilee celebrations, well-loved local pub The Fleece, in Otley, is calling on residents of the town to come together to not only celebrate what’s great about Britain, but more specifically what’s great about Otley.
An ‘Ode to Otley’ will be created on Sunday 3rd June during the pub’s Jubilee celebrations, with guests all having the chance to contribute to the musical masterpiece that will be pulled together by a local band, and released on YouTube.
Guests will be asked what they love about Otley, with each person having the opportunity to add a line to the Ode.
Hosting ‘A Big Kid’s Party’ at The Fleece for Jubilee celebrations, Wharfebank Brewery is pulling out the stops with activities such as inter-family sports day events in the Fleece garden and giant family garden games, keen to give people the chance to mix in a fun environment.
Martin Kellaway, MD of Wharfebank Brewery said: “We’re really excited about this event and about people of all ages coming to have fun at The Fleece with their families.”
We’re also really keen to get behind Otley and help spread the word of what makes it special. The idea of creating the Ode came from giving everyone a say on why they love it –then we’ll use this to spread the word far and wide. For us Jubilee celebrations are all about having a pride for where we live, and we wanted to make this as local as possible”
The celebrations on the 3rd June will run from 12pm – 4pm as The Fleece starts the party off prior to the Market Square street party taking place in the town later on that evening.
Guests will also be treated to a summer BBQ along with pub classics with a party food twist and the full summer menu will also be available.
