Middleton Railway
Opened in 1758, Middleton Railway is the world’s oldest working railway. The line runs into Middleton Park at the edge of Yorkshire’s largest ancient forest.
Nature trails, picnic facilities and a large collection of railway locomotives can be seen, many of them built in Leeds. Explore the Engine House, learn about the great Leeds locomotive builders and take the train to Middleton Park.
