W Denis secures second Dutch deal
5th Dec 2011
Leeds-based insurance broker W Denis Plc has secured its second deal this year to provide insurance services in the Netherlands.
The new deal facilitates point of sale insurance services for 600 musical instrument retailers throughout The Netherlands, insuring all types of new musical instruments and accessories.
The new five year contract is worth up to €15m in total premiums. It follows another similar deal arranged by W Denis earlier in the year providing insurance for Dutch retailers of electronic gadgets, mobile phones and tablet computers.
Mark Dutton, director at W Denis Insurance Brokers Plc, commented “The export of (re)insurance services is prohibited in some countries by the local government/regulator. We have overcome this through receiving permission from the FSA to passport our services in 11 continental European countries.
"In addition, as the only Lloyd’s Broker head-quartered in Yorkshire, we also benefit from being able to utilize the existing licenses and framework of Lloyd’s of London which accepts business from over 200 countries worldwide. The export of our insurance and reinsurance services will remain an important area of our business, but is certainly supplemental to the core area we have of providing direct insurance services to businesses in Yorkshire and elsewhere in the UK”.
