Paul Hamer becomes chairman of ACE
10th Jan 2012
Paul Hamer, chief executive of WYG, has taken office as chairman of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering for 2012.
Paul Hamer became chief executive officer of WYG in March 2009. Previous to this, he was managing director of VT Nuclear Services, part of the VT Group Plc, and brings with him over 20 years’ experience in business management, leadership and project delivery. He has also held several senior executive positions in the contracting, nuclear, oil, chemical and petrochemical sectors.
Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, ACE chief executive, said: “WYG is a proactive member, and ACE is very fortunate indeed to have a chairman of the calibre of Paul Hamer. His experience and leadership qualities will ensure that ACE continues to provide an influential voice for the industry as it faces the challenges of 2012 and beyond.”
Paul Hamer said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be appointed as chairman of ACE in what will be an exciting but challenging year for the industry. During 2012, we have a great opportunity to globally showcase our talents and skills through the world-class infrastructure that has been created for the London Olympics. In addition, ACE will be busy preparing the foundations for its centenary celebrations in 2013.”
Paul Hamer succeeds Graham Nicholson, who continues to serve as ACE’s immediate past chairman.
