Kids vs business at Leeds United penalty shootout
2nd Sep 2010
Members from the Yorkshire Property Charity Football committee staged a fun penalty shoot out with children from Wildfire@Barnardo’s Outreach – the Leeds charity set to benefit from a major fundraising event later this year. It is the only charitable event permitted to be staged on Leeds United soil this year.
The date for the Yorkshire Property Charity Football match and fundraising dinner has been announced for 14th October 2010. Business professionals from the regional will compete alongside ex professionals including Peter Beagrie, Noel Whelan, Andy Richie, Simon Grayson and Craig Hignett. Former Hull City and Bradford City player and regular Sky TV reporter Dean Windass has also once again pledged his support to join the team.
Now in its sixth year, the event has grown to become a popular fixture for the regional business community where true sporting spirit combines with a key business networking dinner for a major fundraising occasion. Around 400 guests are expected to attend the dinner.
Guest speaker at the dinner will be John Stiles who is an accomplished comedy act and son of the legendary 1966 world cup hero Nobby, and Dan Hodge will compere the event.
Regional businesses are being urged to show support for the event which this year raises much needed funds in aid of children’s charity Wildfire@Barnardo’s Outreach. The centre provides outreach services to expectant parents and families with children aged 0-5 living within West Leeds. The service supports families to access local Childrens Centre services and provides information, signposting, group activities and family support.
Last year Yorkshire Property Charity Football raised more than £23,000 for Barnardo’s and hopes to surpass this for 2010 with a list of fantastic auction prizes and increased table bookings at the dinner.
Tables of ten at the dinner are priced at just £600 for a three course meal and half bottle of wine per person. There are also opportunities for brand sponsorship of team shirts, the match ball, the speaker as well as headline support.
