Having just celebrated winning Managing Partner of the Year at the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards, one of the first things Blacks Solicitors’ Chris Allen did was tweet about it – an action that could have contributed to him being on the podium in the first place, and one that’s certainly befitting of the practice that’s just been recognised in the top two most influential legal tweeters in the UK.

In an industry not traditionally recognised for being early adopters with technology, Blacks Solicitors in Leeds is reaping the rewards of having invested in a structured social media programme of consultancy and support, working with Leeds based consultancy and training provider, V Social.

One of the first in their industry to face social media head on, Blacks has been using it to raise the profile of key partners, engage with customers, provide new communication channels for partners and stakeholders, as well as interact with potential future clients. V Social has provided a structured best practice consulting and training programme for Blacks over the last 10 months, initiating with a small pilot that is now being rolled out across the firm.

Chris added: “I have to admit I was initially cautious about introducing the likes of twitter into our marketing strategy and we are rolling out the use of it gradually across the team, but we can already see it has had a positive impact on customer service, client communications and new business generation"

The entry in the “Top 10 list of law firms on twitter” is based on scores from Klout.com measuring engagement, influence and audience size.  This list included firms both from the UK and larger multinationals and Leeds based Blacks came in 2nd.
