Wednesday 30th August 2006

10am - A welcome address from the leader of Leeds City Council and words of support from other dignitaries.

Ready, Set, Cook
Malmaison vs. Woodlands
Two of Leeds' best hotel restaurants come face-to-face in a tense ready, set, cook event. With both the head chefs coming along this is sure to be something special.

From 12.30am
Kids Pizza Class
If tossing dough in the air is your child’s ambition then this session is for them. Casa Mia provides a chance for kids to learn how to make pizza and not just how to eat it. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. T: 0870 444 5158

Harvey Nichols - Food and Wine Tasting
‘Harvey Nichols’ bring chefs from their famous Fourth Floor Restaurant for this tasting, and as you'll discover, their high-quality, innovative approach to clothing extends to their cooking as well.

The Secrets of Greek Cooking
Well-known Leeds restaurateur George Psarias demonstrates how to cook lamb Greek style and how to use filo pastry in classic Greek desserts (as served at his popular restaurant, ‘Olive Tree’). Make sure you take your seats early as this one is going to be popular.

Indian Foods with a special performance from Indian Dancers
Hansas, Leeds' excellent Gujarati restaurant, host a cooking exhibition supported by a spellbinding performance by Indian dancers. The perfect way to start your Wednesday evening!

Junior Chef Academy
Healthy eating is important for people of all ages but especially so for younger children. Tutors from Thomas Danby College will be showing children how to eat more healthily whilst also entertaining them with their cooking skills. Places are limited so book early. T: 0113 284 6296

A cooking experience from the East
Darbar’s best chefs cook up some of their speciality dishes at the perfect time of day to satisfy hungry tummies.

Indian Cooking Experience
A fantastic chance to sample some of Aagrah’s finest dishes and preview Mohammed Aslam's latest cookery book 'Hand over Fist'.

Japanese Sushi Experience
Little Tokyo demonstrate how to make the perfect sushi roll and provide the unmissable opportunity to sample some made by a master.

The Wardrobe presents “The Lightning Rods” - live music and Duvel beer sampling
The Wardrobe hosts an event with a match made in heaven: live jazz from The Lightning Rods and a sampling of exquisite beer Belgian beer ‘Duvel’.

Ready, Set, Cook
Flying Pizza vs. Room
Another chance to catch a ready, set, cook event, this time with Flying Pizza and Room battling it out to be crowned winner. Don't miss the excitement — there's sure to be flying saucepans!

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of His Royal Highness King Bhummibol Adulyadej’s reign, Thai restaurant ‘Chaophraya’ produce a meal fit for the king!

If Chinese food is your thing then dust off your chopsticks and fire up your wok for this masterclass in Chinese cookery. A perfect way to whet those appetites before dinner.
