Overview
Perched on a hill in the heart of Kirkstall sits the former gatehouse to one of Britain's best preserved and most romantic abbeys.
It is now home to a unique venue offering simple but wholesome food surrounded by the rustic medieval features of this 12th century local landmark.
The food of Yorkshire and the area of Kirkstall have something in common: they have provided the region with a rich heritage. Not only does Yorkshire have some of the most impressive structures in the country but food produce is also of the highest quality.
It provides a great atmosphere for families and children are well catered for with their own special menu.
The Gatehouse sits alongside Abbey House museum.
A visit to Abbey House will allow you to walk around the streets of 1880s Leeds, step through the pages of a Victorian nursery rhyme book and steep yourself in the romantic history of Kirkstall Abbey.
Being in such a prime position, The Gatehouse can also be used as a venue for weddings, special occasions and events.
