Overview

Millennium Square was Leeds’ flagship project to mark the year 2000. Funded by Leeds City Council and the Millennium Commission, the £12 million project transformed the old Mandela Gardens into one of Europe’s most original and impressive civic spaces.

Millennium Square now boasts some fantastic events such as live performances, concerts, weekend markets, beer tents and ice-skating in the winter.

Millennium Square is located within Leeds city centre, in the Civic Quarter (northern end, around the Civic Hall.)
