Overview

Despite its location on Greek Street, La Tasca’s renowned for cooking up some fantastic Spanish grub - tapas to be exact and over 30 different types no less. But, as good and varied as the fodder is, it’s the consistent party atmosphere permeating every nook and cranny that makes La Tasca such a fantastic venue. San Miguel on tap and Flamenco/Salsa soundtracks lend an air of traditional Spain to the lively atmosphere, complementing the authentic décor where the tiles are brightly coloured and the wooden tables a rich mahogany. The restaurant has an open layout with terrace seating, offering delightful al fresco dining in the summer months. The downstairs area is a little darker with snug alcoves covered in brightly-coloured cushions, perfect for those intimate dinners for two. Indeed, within ten minutes of entering this restaurant it’s easy to suspend all knowledge that it’s a Leeds street greeting you when you leave. The staff are friendly, attentive and likely to be having as much of a good time as the customers. La Tasca’s strength lies in its canny blend of great Spanish food and equally great Spanish hospitality, which together create a unique and authentic relaxed atmosphere, where the punter chooses to eat or drink as the mood takes them. In fact, the only visitors liable to disappointment are those expecting an average three-course meal in a staid environment.
