Overview
Located in an emerging part of town adjacent to the West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Wardrobe's name relates to the building's former use - it actually housed the theatre's extensive wardrobe collection! Revamped and developed in 1999 by local visionary and design guru, Peter Connolly.
Upon entering this thoroughly unpretentious venue, the Wardrobe commands your immediate respect. One of the best stocked bars in town, the Wardrobe Bar is spacious, roomy and well-lit and lends itself to the perfect after-work hangout or the ideal space to while away the weekend hours.
A fantastic selection of intelligent cocktails, mixers and imported specialist beers adds further to the venue's relaxed, easy-going feel. But perhaps more importantly, the drinks are served by a helpful, knowledgeable and truly professional team of bar tenders - all expertly trained.
The Wardrobe even has its very own open-plan restaurant - a first class eatery in its own right.
Finally, the Basement venue regularly showcases the best in jazz, folk, swing, big band, urban and contemporary arts.
Named 'Best Bar in the North East and Yorkshire' by leading industry magazine 'Theme'.
