Overview

On the edge of the city centre, The Well is best known as one of Leeds' most popular gig venues. Occupying the lower level of the red-bricked Joseph's Well office complex, the venue straddles the boundaries of a busy business-focussed part of town and one of the smarter areas of student habitation.

The Well - as it is affectionately known - is also on the doorstep of both a college and the Galaxy 105 studios. This always makes for a truly eclectic bunch of drinkers from students to office workers and DJs.

Smart brass and polished wooden fittings create a feeling of tradition and heritage and make for the ideal place to take in a cosy lunchtime pint. There is plenty of seating and a range of curved booths and raised seated areas create enough space to enjoy a private conversation or a group night out.

Good quality fresh home cooked food and a range of beers, ales and spirits are all on offer.

Joseph's Well has a large adjoining room that's used for popular gig nights almost every night of the week.

Covering the broad spectrum of rock, from indie to punk to ska, if you are looking for an alternative to what the city centre has to offer, then the atmosphere at The Well is always welcoming.
