Overview
During the day there is moderately priced fodder and a relaxed atmosphere in clean, contemporary surroundings.
However, a DJ box in the corner hints at something more, and some swift furniture manouevres around 8.30pm reveal The Courtyard's club persona in all its glory. Gone are the pine tables and high chairs, exposing a large expanse of floorboard on which punters can strut their stuff as quality DJs hit the decks.
As the name suggests, there's a large outdoor area complete with heating and seating. An eclectic range of nights attracts an eclectic array of folk: Tuesday's student night features massive drinks promotions, cheesetastic music and a late licence. Thursday to Saturday sounds range from funk to garage, soul to disco, and Sunday is a day of rest, with the chance to win prizes in the popular quiz.
