Overview
A regular favourite with families of all ages, Golden Acre Park is made up of over 130 acres of gardens and woodland stretching out from a central lake.
A range of walks from gentle strolls to longer rambles are all available, as well as gardening demonstrations. Amongst other treats, the cafe offers rare breed burgers and sausages, produced from the herd at Temple Newsam.
Within the park is also a national collection of lilacs and alpine rock gardens, a large display house, a heather garden, an arboretum and pinetum, old shrub roses, rhododendrons and azaleas.
Golden Acre Park won a Green Flag Award 2005/6 for creating cleaner, safer, green communities.
