Overview

The newly refurbished Leeds City Art Gallery houses an acclaimed collection of traditional prints, watercolours, paintings and sculptures including works by Turner and Cotman. Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Anthony Gormley feature among the more contemporary artists whose work is displayed.

The gallery offers a great place in which to chat and mingle, contemplate and enjoy art, and presents a varied programme of exhibitions and events in which to participate. It also features a magnificent restored Victorian tiled hall including a cafe which links the gallery to the Central Library next door.

Financial Times, 29 April 2000
