Excitement builds for fashion show at Clarence 'Gok'

With just one week to go until the most spectacular fashion extravaganza Leeds has ever seen, Clarence Dock is preparing to launch a new shopping experience in true style.

Hosted by celebrity TV fashion guru Gok Wan the 11th October show will take place on a specially made white floating catwalk in the dock itself with an unusual and cutting edge fashion and dance combination.

Thousands are expected to flock to the event that will mark a memorable finale to Leeds Shopping Week

Popular drive time Galaxy FM radio presenter Dan O’Connell is to host the event that starts from 12 noon until 5pm. Co presenting with Gok he will introduce the fashion show that will be repeated four times over the course of the day.

Approximate times are 12.45pm, 2pm, 3.15pm and 4.30pm. The choreographed routine will showcase clothing, shoes and accessories from brands opening at Clarence Dock including All Saints, Daniel Footwear, Emma by Emma Somerset, G-Star, JOY, Moda in Pelle, Replay and Rock Couture.

Cutting edge Leeds hair and beauty salon RMUK has been brought in to style the model’s hair whilst the make-up will be created by Bobbi Brown from House of Fraser beauty counter.

To signify the opening of retail stores at Clarence Dock on the 11th October, the retail team are offering a chance for one lucky person to win £500* to spend on the day.

The winner will have to be present on the day to collect the prize from Gok Wan, after which a stylist will escort and advise them about how best to spend the £500.

A further competition is running for ten people to have a private audience with Gok giving a chance to ask personal questions about fashion and style.

In between the fashion shows, revellers can listen to a bespoke live music set by Leeds based DJ and radio presenter Duncan Wallace, giving his unique blend of house, electro and crowd pleasing anthems in clubs like Gatecrasher, Hed Kandi, The Plug and Ministry of Sound.

Additional elements to the day include the sale of Gok’s new book, How to Dress, special offers from participating stores and lots of free goodies.

Also home to The Royal Armouries Museum Clarence Dock boasts 370,000 sq ft of retail/leisure, 1,100 waterside apartments, 100,000 sq. ft. of prime grade A offices, together with an Express by Holiday Inn hotel, Savills exhibition hall and 1,650 space car park.
