£50,000 for Ilkley Moor
Ilkley Moor is to get £50,000 lottery cash to tackle wear and tear from nature and thousands of visitors.
The Friends of Ilkley Moor will use the grant to help conserve and improve access to three square miles of moorland which has suffered from erosion and environmental degradation in recent years.
Fiona Spiers, head of the Heritage Lottery Fund for Yorkshire, said: "Ilkley Moor is steeped in Yorkshire history and is a home to many rare species. We must strike a fine balance between protecting it and ensuring people can enjoy it."
The money will be used to improve footpaths and control bracken.
