Youngsters called to the barre for summerNorthern Ballet Theatre is giving budding young dancers the chance to join its international summer school in Leeds.
From July 28 to August 16 the school will provide intensive dance training to students aged between 12 and 19.
The classes, at the theatre’s headquarters in West Park, aim to strengthen classical, contemporary and jazz techniques.
It is also hoped the students will gain an insight into life as a professional dancer.
Ballet mistress Yoko Ichino said: “The summer school allows students to get a glimpse of what full-time training would be like and is a great opportunity to meet other students and further develop dance technique.”
