Overview
We are delighted to welcome back to the College Snake Davis and his band as part of their Talking Bird tour. Snake’s long-awaited CD, released on Skin Records, is described “as a cornucopia of style, sound, mystique, funk and brilliance” [Jazz Review] and features Snake on flute, saxophone and shakuhachi (Japanese flute). With his profile at an all time high, this tour will give Snake a chance to do what he does best – playing to live audiences.
Snake is well established as one of the UK’s leading saxophonists and has recorded and worked with some of the biggest names on the popular music scene including Paul McCartney, Ray Charles, Lionel Richie, Amy Winehouse, M-People, Primal Scream and Tina Turner. Multi-talented, he plays various saxophones, flutes and whistles, as well as singing, writing, producing and directing. A former student of Leeds College of Music, Snake graduated in 1979.
