Overview

Award-winning jazz vocalist Clare Teal has been making a name for herself since the release of her debut album on Candid Records in 2001. Having released three albums for Candid her breakthrough album Don’t Talk was released on Sony Jazz in 2004. Receiving critical and commercial acclaim, Don’t Talk topped the British Jazz charts and went into the UK Album Top 20. The success of this album led to Clare being named British Jazz Vocalist of the Year in 2005 and 2006 as well as the Marlborough Jazz Festival’s Best Live Performer two years running.

In 2007 Clare’s fifth album, Paradisi Carousel, was released and saw a move towards more mainstream pop music. This same year Clare presented Clare Teal’s Jazz Divas and the weekly Big Band Special, both for BBC Radio 2, and was awarded Jazz Vocalist of the Year 2007 at the British Jazz Awards. Earlier this year Clare signed to Universal Imprint W14 Music and released the album Get Happy. The album is a return to Clare’s first love – jazz.
