Inspired by the post-war efforts of the Arts Council of Great Britain to raise the standards of interior decoration by touring new designs around the country, this exhibition evokes the campaign to bring domestic-scale sculpture by a range of modern sculptors into the middle-class homes of Great Britain.
This re-staging includes sculpture by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, John Skeaping, Reg Butler, Frank Dobson, Gertrude Hermes, Rosemary Young, Trevor Tennant, Uli Nimptsch and Dora Gordine, brought to life by Lucienne Day and Audrey Levy textiles, and furniture by Robin Day, Ernest Race and Gordon Russell.
