Overview

Leeds' newest alternative nightclub lives in the Merrion Centre in the shell of the old Bassment nighclub. It opened mid-September 2006 with the remit of providing a home for many of the nights left in limbo by the closure of Bar Phono and the Bassment at Christmas 2005 and other new nights missing from the Leeds alternative scene. From Bar Phono there is Friday Flock, Raw Nerve, Rock Soc and 2 Smoking Barrels, Sunday Club and Frankie. From the Bassment there is Gigantic, Hospital Radio and Juvenile Hall. Add to this new nights such as Substance, Idiotech, Loose Tooth, Trash Alley and Primitive and there's a pretty comprehensive selection of alternative music. As well as regular nights the club also hosts one-off nights and gigs and is available for private hire on nights when not already booked. It's also open from 2pm on Saturday afternoons like a pub.
