The government named Park Lane a Beacon College in 1999 for its outstanding performance, making it one of the first ten colleges to be recognised as a centre of excellence, and inspection results have consistently been amongst the best in the country.
Full and part-time programmes are available at Park Lane, from further education courses to daytime, twilight and evening leisure courses, at a range of levels and in centres all over Leeds. Park Lane also run a range of Foundation degrees validated by Leeds Metropolitan University.
Park Lane College was established by Leeds City Council in 1961 to provide commercial, secretarial and general education for the citizens of Leeds. The College operates across two main campuses in the city centre and at Horsforth, and 17 other sites across Leeds, which the College owns and operates. They receive approximately 500 applications to higher education each year, and have approximately 800 members of staff.
