Summer Band Concerts set to break all records

The 2008 series of Summer Band Concerts in Leeds Parks on Sunday afternoons covers 22 parks in an 85-strong season of concerts featuring over 40 of the region’s finest brass, jazz and concert bands.

This is the most comprehensive such series ever promoted by Leeds City Council.

From early May to mid-September, the bandstands of the city will resound to the music of local brass bands and junior ensembles in parks.

Parks hosting the concerts include Golden Acre, Canal Gardens - Roundhay, Pudsey, Dartmouth - Morley, Middleton, Temple Newsam, Horsforth, Wetherby and Westroyd - Farsley.

All concerts run from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, (except at Horsforth Hall Park concerts begin at 2.15pm) and are absolutely free.

A free leaflet with full listings is available by contacting 0113 247 8336 or by emailing music@leeds.gov.uk

No matter where you live in Leeds, there will be a concert event nearby. So dig out the picnic rugs and sunhats for a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
