Unique restaurant promotion puts diners in charge

City-centre restaurant Room has appointed a new Head Chef, Greg Lewis, formerly at the Harrogate Grille & Pool Court Leeds.

Greg has over eight years' experience working in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. His big break came when he was offered a position within the kitchen team at Pool Court under the guidance of Michelin starred Chef Jeff Baker. Greg is considered one of the best young chefs in the region.

In honour of the new look menu and Greg’s arrival, Room Leeds is running a unique promotion. From the 1st May until 30th June 2008 diners decide what their main course is worth with the new promotion ‘What’s it worth – you decide! Guests pay money equal to the amount they feel their a la carte main course is worth.

Dishes include Thermidor monkfish tail, Bourguignon with braised beef, Teriyaki organic salmon and Macaroni cheese with artichoke*.

Customers must buy two courses, and pay in full for either a starter or dessert and they decide what their main course is worth. The offer applies to pre-booked tables only and is available at lunchtime (Mon – Sat 12noon until 3pm).

Room is a modern restaurant lounge bar offering contemporary design, good quality unpretentious food, served without attitude by a friendly team of “hosts”.

Located in the very heart of Leeds city centre, Room is a quiet oasis and ideally placed for serving the city’s business and shopping districts. The evenings mix the glam and glitz you would expect from a vibrant city and the resident DJ’s mix of European lounge, Jazz and soul music never fails to please a discerning crowd, with the late night “Bedroom” open at weekends but strictly guest list only.
