Nesting birds get the green light

A traffic light has become the unlikely home for a thrush and its chicks.

The thrush didn't seem too distracted by the changing lights as it fed hungry mouths in the traffic signal on Church Street and Balm Road, in Hunslet, Leeds.

There have been other sightings of birds nesting at other traffic lights in West Yorkshire. Experts say they like the warmth provided by the changing lights and the sturdy ledge.
