Overview
Originally a school house, the building has been converted to slot in a bar/restaurant, cocktail lounge, courtyard and 700 capacity dance-room under its one hundred-year old roof.
The interior is fairly minimalist, stark some might say, with lots of white contrasting nicely with the dark chocolate leatherette seating that features throughout. A giant screen shows sporting events and, occasionally, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Off the bar/restaurant’s left flank is the courtyard.
Still, it’s the majestic old-style dance hall upstairs that steals the show. This magnificent room still has many of its original features in place. The exposed brickwork, striking windows, parquet flooring and high wooden beams in the vaulted ceiling were there when small children were being bored to death by algebra. The adjoining cocktail lounge is the perfect chill-out zone.
