Weather profile
Leeds, lying in the rainshadow of the Pennines, has on average one of the driest climates (perhaps the driest) among major British cities, and has less summer rainfall than many European cities.

In short, Leeds has one of the most favourable climates for city centre life, and this is one of the key factors behind the success of its shopping, pavement cafes and outdoor events and entertainment.
