Sound Leisure Ltd are a manufacturer of jukeboxes and has been based in Leeds since 1977.
The company produces and supplies jukeboxes of all shapes and sizes to
various clients within the leisure industry, from shops and retail
outlets, to bars, clubs and gyms.
Although the company had moved
to new premises in 1998, another move was needed in September 2004 to
manage escalating growth and production. The company moved from the
Halton area (LS9) to the Scholes area (LS15) of Leeds. The company now
required a larger factory that could accommodate a bigger workforce and
also house the cabinet shop on the same premises, making the move much
more cost effective.
After contacting Leeds City Council, Sound
Leisure received a list of available properties meeting their
specifications for larger premises and manufacturing facilities. The
list gave full contact details for the agents dealing with those
properties, together with a comprehensive description of the premises.
“Our
product range varies from state-of-the-art entertainment systems,
involving a unique combination of electronics expertise to traditional
cabinet making skills,” said Alan Black, Managing Director of Sound
Leisure Ltd. “We export all over the world and the city’s position at
the heart of excellent transport networks has allowed us to do this
effectively and cheaply. The city is great place to do business and we
have enjoyed many years of success here and didn’t want to leave when
the time came to grow. Leeds has so much to offer that it’s virtually
impossible not to be able to find the right premises but the property
search service made it so much simpler”
Sound Leisure has
continued to grow. It now has 120 employees working in manufacturing,
sales and administration. The move has opened up new contracts through
the cabinet shop and better business networks and has achieved greater
working operations and cost benefits from the move.
