Law firm Cobbetts in the fast lane
Law firm Cobbetts – which has offices in Leeds, London, Birmingham and Manchester – has been named as the UK's fastest growing Alternative Investment Market (AIM) legal adviser by number of clients.
The ranking, based on information published by Hemscott, shows Cobbetts secured six new AIM clients in the first quarter of 2008 – more than any other UK law firm.
Cobbetts' tally now stands at 30 AIM clients, including newly added construction firm, Panceltica, the first Qatar-based company to be admitted to AIM, and Manchester-based oil and gas exploration company, Enegi Oil.
Partner in the Leeds office of Cobbetts, Guy Jackson, said the firm's recent success was down to a focus on 'basic materials'.
He said: "We believe that, by spreading the message about the benefits of AIM and the liquidity of London's markets, we can increase the number of quality foreign companies choosing the UK for a listing."
